UNDER electronic music and art festival

UNDER is an electronic music and arts festival taking place in Riga since 2017. In 2026, the festival will return on July 24–25, with Rene Wise (UK) and Lady Starlight (US) announced as the main headliners.

Rene Wise is a British DJ and producer whose releases have appeared on Blueprint, WSNWG and other respected platforms within the contemporary techno scene. His music combines hypnotic grooves, refined rhythmic structures and a minimalist aesthetic, earning him recognition from audiences worldwide. Today, Rene Wise regularly performs at some of the leading clubs across Europe, Asia and the Americas, including Berghain, fabric and Bassiani.

Lady Starlight is an American musician and live performer known for her unique approach to analog sound and hardware-based electronic music. Over the years, she has collaborated with a wide range of artists from the experimental and electronic music worlds, while also taking part in major international tours with Lady Gaga and live projects alongside Surgeon. In recent years, Lady Starlight has been working closely with German techno producer Rødhåd, regularly performing as part of improvisation-based live projects centered around analog synthesizers. Their collaborative performances have been presented at events and venues such as SUPERBOOTH, RSO and Stone Techno Festival.

The festival’s daytime program will take place at the Sporta 2 Quarter. Inside the Zefīrs restaurant space, local DJs Mixmaster Raitis, Esoniq and other artists will perform vinyl-only sets. Visitors will also be able to attend free workshops and masterclasses hosted by Erica Synths, Gamechanger Audio, Dmitry Puffin and Marcus L who will talk about mixing on tapes, as well as open discussions on the contemporary electronic music scene featuring representatives of Keyi Magazine and Ghost Collective.

Children up to 16 years old can enter the festival free of charge when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. All adults should hold a valid festival ticket. Young visitors are welcome to enjoy the daytime program at Zefīrs and may stay on the festival grounds until 22:00.

The nighttime program will take place at the Spēlēt concert hall. Alongside headline performances by Rene Wise and Lady Starlight, South Korean DJ Marcus L will present a rare cassette DJ set. The lineup also features leading figures of the Latvian electronic music scene, including Ksenia Kamikaza and Igors Vorobjovs live, as well as artists from Italy, Turkey, the United Kingdom and other countries. July 24 will focus on DJ performances, while July 25 will be dedicated to live acts and improvisational performances using synthesizers and electronic instruments.
